I started Rad Dad IT after working in IT and industrial automation for over 15 years and noticing a lack of knowledge and capabilities of many organizations not in the technology sector. Even from my experience in hiring employees, I've seen senior level candidates who in my opinion seemed very entry level, or only knew one small field of the IT world. While I won't claim to be an expert at any one field of technology, I've had what I feel is a well rounded experience in various fields of technology. I've spent a great deal of time in the industrial automation world programming facilities from feedlots for cattle and furnaces to process coal all the way to natural gas processing facilities and automotive assembly plants. (Little known fact - I actually share a Guinness World Record and a Patent for work I've done on the furnaces)
Along the way I've expanded my knowledge of IT systems by building expansive redundant networks with hundreds of network switches, built servers to run medical facilities, set up security camera systems, and set up phone systems for various companies including a call center.
I try to focus on making the customer happy, while keeping costs low, and making the systems easy to manage.
